Local Governing Board
Monks Coppenhall Academy is governed by a local governing board (LGB) which has authority delegated to it from the Alexandra Academy Trust.
Scheme of Delegation – To be uploaded in the Autumn Term when approved.
The LGB consists of seven to ten members to include two parent governors, one staff governor, the head of school and other governors appointed by the trust board.
Governors are appointed for the skills, experience and personal qualities they bring to the board.
The board has three core functions:
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction.
- To hold executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils and the effective and efficient performance management of staff.
- To oversee the financial performance of the organisation and making sure its money is well spent.
